Elxis 2008.1 Nemesis, is the first mass upgrade of the 2008 Elxis generation. This version of Elxis CMS runs only under PHP 5.0 or newer, supports Oracle database, has an integrated blog component called eBlog (Elxis Blog), a new system for language handling and an upgraded SEO PRO for even better search engines friendly URLs. In this version you will also find other changes, fixes and additions although the most of the work we have done in this release is on core level. We encourage you to upgrade your Elxis 2008.0 installation to 2008.1 using the Elxis Updater.

Here are the highlights of this release.

- PHP 5.x only compatible. Elxis 2008.1 is also coded in a more object oriented way than its ancestor.
- Oracle database support. Although the Oracle support is experimental it worked fine during our tests. If you are an Oracle expert and wish to help us for making Oracle support even better please contact us.
- Upgraded language handling and SEO PRO systems. Language information is now permanent in the URL. For each language Elxis generate sub-folders like URls (except for the default language).
- Integrated user blogs (eBlog). You can create unlimited blogs and assign an owner to each one. Each blog has its own settings and layout, totally controlled from front-end.

What's new in Elxis 2008.1

On October 23, 2008 we released an updated Elxis 2008.1 with revision 2218.
This update contains the following fixes:
- Fix for htaccess and SEO PRO as under some server environments, htaccess generated error 500.
- Patch against module language XSS vulnerability.
- Fix for PostgreSQL compatibility.
- Updated Turkish language files.
- Added Polish language.
- Some other small fixes.

On December 19, 2008 we released an updated Elxis 2008.1 with revision 2245. This update contains some buf fixes and a few modifications (you can for example publish/unpublish an eBlog article).

This is an outdated Elxis release! There is a newer version available!
